Although they missed out on lifting the championship trophy, the Ancient Capital team swept all 3 matches in the group stage, then defeated Bay Nui An Giang Hometown FC and Thai Nguyen Hometown FC in the quarterfinals and semifinals to reach the final. Ultimately, the runner-up title stood as proof of their determination, thorough preparation, unity, and dedication to their hometown by the Hue natives living away from home.

On the pitch, amidst thousands of Hue natives living away from home was a significant number of fans travelling directly from Hue to cheer the team on. Not since the historic 1995 National Championship final match against HCMC Police FC have I experienced such a fervent football atmosphere of Hue right in the heart of the southern city,” stated Assoc.
