“Harnessing heritage: Towards ‘less but better’” is the front-page article in this issue of Hue Today Weekly, written by Lien Minh.
Reporting on efforts to harness the value of services at the Imperial Citadel and other sites within the Complex of Hue Monuments, the author notes that, rather than focusing on visitor numbers, Hue Monuments Conservation Center is shifting its approach to services at the Imperial Citadel and other heritage sites by offering a more selective range of products, improving the quality of visitor experiences, and targeting higher-spending visitors. Art performances, royal cuisine, craft village experiences, heritage education, and products featuring royal decorative motifs are expected to both increase revenue and reduce pressure on the heritage sites.
