The Championship brings together nearly 200 male and female athletes from 13 teams (9 men’s teams, and 4 women’s teams) from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Son La, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, the Air Defence - Air Force, the People’s Public Security, and Hue City, the host. The teams will compete through the preliminary rounds, quarterfinals, semifinals, finals, and classification matches in two categories: U18 men’s 5x5 team, and U18 women’s 5x5 team.
“Beyond serving as a playing field for young athletes, the Championship also aims to assess the organization, training, and development of basketball across units, provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide; it also gives athletes the opportunity to compete and improve their skills, thereby preparing well for the 10th National Sports Games in 2026, and for regional and international championships,” said Mr. Bui Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.
The Championship will conclude on July 22.
