The introduction of the Computer Engineering program reflects Hue University's strategy of progressively investing in and concentrating resources on the development of its Department of Engineering and Technology. It is also one of the university's key priorities for 2026, as outlined in Resolution No. 57-NQ/DU, issued by the Hue University Party Committee on June 20th, 2026.
Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Lich, Head of the Department of Engineering and Technology, Hue University, emphasized that the official launch of the Computer Engineering program at this time holds special significance, aligning with Vietnam's strategic direction for advancing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the new development phase. The program also represents a concrete step toward implementing Hue University's development plan for key engineering disciplines and strategic technologies, with the long-term goal of establishing the University of Engineering and Technology as a member institution of Hue University.
On this occasion, the Department also held its graduation ceremony and awarded engineering degrees to 68 graduates from the 2021 - 2026 academic cohort. They are the second graduating class of the Department and completed programs in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Control and Automation Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
