The riverside stage came alive with a series of traditional music and contemporary dance performances presented by two Korean art troupes, Pungnyu Bongi and the Park Sang-Yong Yung Dance Troupe. Many spectators arrived early to secure favorable seats and immersed themselves in the rhythms and movements that vividly reflected the cultural identity of the Land of kimchi.
In the show, Pungnyu Bongi Arts Alliance transported audiences into the world of traditional Korean music through soulful melodies rich in storytelling. The art troupe gathered various outstanding artists and master performers from Gyeongju, a city that once served as the capital of the Silla Kingdom and is regarded as one of the birthplaces of Korea’s traditional music.
Through its performances, Pungnyu Bongi introduced audiences to cultural values preserved across generations while vividly reflecting the rich spiritual life of the Korean people. The program also created a unique cultural dialogue between Gyeongju, a city steeped in tradition, and Hue, Vietnam’s Ancient Capital, home to an exceptional cultural heritage treasure.
Meanwhile, Park Sang-Yong Yung Dance Troupe from Busan captivated audiences with a series of performances that harmoniously blended folk traditions and contemporary dance expression. The performance marked the troupe’s second participation in Hue International Music Week 2026.
The performers impressed audiences with their technical mastery and expressive stage presence. Drawing on traditional dance foundations while embracing contemporary creativity, the dance movements brought a fresh perspective to each performance, contributing to upgrading its unique artistic appeal.
Through music and performance, audiences had the chance to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the unique features of Korean culture. The presence of the two Korean art troupes also helped enrich the painting on international cultural exchange, reaffirming Hue Festival 2026 as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange and a gathering place for cultures from across the globe.
