Nearly 100 outstanding swimmers from 13 units and localities participating in the opening ceremony

The tournament brought together nearly 100 top athletes from 13 units and localities, including Hue University, Thuan Hoa, Phu Xuan, Thanh Thuy, An Cuu, Thuan An, Huong Tra, Phu Bai wards, as well as Long Quang, Phu Loc, Nam Dong, Vinh Loc, and Khe Tre communes.

Taking place until June 14, the tournament features competitions in the following events: men’s and women’s 50m and 100m freestyle, men’s and women’s 50m and 100m backstroke, men’s and women’s 50m and 100m butterfly, men’s and women’s 200m freestyle, men’s and women’s 50m and 100m breaststroke, men’s and women’s 200m individual medleys, along with men’s and women’s 4x50 freestyle relays, mixed 4x50m freestyle relays, and mixed 4x50m medley relays.

“Swimming is one of the city’s key sports, and it continues to attract strong interest from local units and the wider community. Given Hue’s geographical characteristics, promoting swimming plays a vital role not only in improving public health and physical fitness but also in equipping residents with essential water-safety skills and helping reduce the risk of drowning incidents,” said Mr. Bui Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.

To date, the 10th Hue City Sports Games 2026 has completed competitions in 15 out of 18 sports, including traditional boat racing, shuttercock kicking, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, Karate, Taekwondo, vovinam, chess, Chinese chess, billiards, petanque, cross-country running, and swimming.

Football, athletics, and wrestling are the three remaining sports on the competition schedule, in which athletics and football are expected to be completed before September. After the official opening ceremony of the 10th Hue City Sports Games, which is expected to take place on September 20, wrestling will be held as the final event.
