Attending the program were Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health; Ms. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee; leaders of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Hue City Federation of Labor, representatives from provincial health departments and units under the Ministry of Health, along with a large number of workers’ union members and healthcare workers participating through online connections nationwide.

According to Vietnam Health Workers’ Union, this year’s Workers’ Month is associated with the implementation of the “Health Workers' Union accompanying the health of workers in the period 2026-2030” emulation movement, aiming to improve the physical and mental health and quality of life of union members and workers; build safe, civilized, and modern working environments; and create motivation for healthcare workers to remain committed to their profession over the long term.

As part of the program, health workers’ unions at all levels will focus on implementing many practical activities such as promoting communication on occupational safety and hygiene; organizing support activities for union members facing difficult circumstances; conducting periodic health check-ups; providing psychological counseling; improving the quality of shift meals; and enhancing working conditions and labor environments at healthcare facilities.

The emulation movement for the 2026-2030 period also aims to strengthen control over hazardous and toxic factors in working environments; invest in protective equipment suitable for the characteristics of the healthcare sector; proactively prevent occupational accidents and diseases; and promote the role of workplace safety and hygiene networks in monitoring and protecting workers.

Units across the healthcare sector are encouraged to strengthen movements of skilled and creative labor; apply science, technology, and digital transformation in professional activities; and promote initiatives and technical innovations associated with improving the quality of medical examination and treatment while ensuring occupational safety. Various cultural and sports activities will also be organized to improve spiritual well-being and strengthen solidarity among healthcare staff and employees.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Deputy Minister of Health, acknowledged and praised the efforts of healthcare workers and workers’ unions throughout the sector in recent years. The Deputy Minister emphasized that in the context of digital transformation, climate change, and new development requirements of the healthcare sector, greater attention must continue to be paid to healthcare and occupational safety for workers. She also called on units to continue building safe and modern working environments; promote the application of science, technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation in healthcare; improve human resource quality; and strengthen the role of workers’ unions in caring for and protecting workers.

The launch of Workers’ Month 2026 and the emulation movement “Health Workers' Union accompanying the health of workers in the period 2026-2030” is expected to create strong momentum and spread the spirit of caring for workers throughout the healthcare sector, contributing to the development of a high-quality healthcare workforce capable of meeting development requirements in the new period.
