| Competing in the championship for strong teams |
The tournament brings together more than 200 outstanding athletes from 26 men’s teams and 14 women’s teams representing 11 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide, including Can Tho City, Da Nang City, Hanoi City, Khanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Lam Dong, Nghe An - Ckids, the Air Defence - Air Force - PEAR, Ho Chi Minh City, Tuyen Quang - Muscle, and Hue City.
At the tournament, the teams compete in the men’s and women’s championship categories under a group-stage format, playing round-robin matches to earn points. The top 2 teams from each group advance to the semifinals and finals.
As part of the national competition system, the tournament aims to evaluate the basketball training and development across provinces, cities, and sectors, serving as preparation for the 10th National Sports Games in November in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as upcoming regional and international tournaments.
“Hosting the tournament in a modern and open space like AEON Mall Hue not only brings basketball closer to the public but also promotes sports and physical training movement within the community, especially among the young generation,” said Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.
The tournament will conclude on May 16.
