The “An Vi Porridge” project team receives the award

This year, the competition attracted 880 startup projects from students across higher education institutions, vocational education institutions, and general education schools nationwide. The projects spanned five fields: industry-manufacturing-artificial intelligence (AI) - STEM; agriculture-environment-energy; education-culture-tourism-finance; healthcare-well-being-life; and social impact business.

Among them, in the healthcare - well-being - life category, the “An Vi Porridge” project by a student team from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, stood out for its orientation toward community healthcare through a product derived from herbal ingredients.

Born into a family with a tradition in traditional medicine, student Trieu Tu Duong, leader of the “An Vi Porridge” project, became familiar from an early age with medicinal herbs and the healing values of nature. In practice, Duong observed that increasing numbers of young people face stomach-related problems due to academic pressure and the demands of modern life. After becoming a student at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, Duong nurtured the ambition of applying traditional remedies and Vietnamese medicinal herbs to public healthcare.

From that concern, the idea of a convenient, gentle herbal porridge product gradually took shape. “An Vi Porridge” is not only a nutritional product but also a way for students to apply their professional knowledge to serve community health, in line with the spirit of “service” embedded in the educational philosophy of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University.

Accompanying Trieu Tu Duong in turning the idea into reality were team members Le Thi Huyen (University of Economics, Hue University), Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, and Le Vo Thao Quyen (University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University), under the guidance of two lecturers, Dr. Tran Nhat Minh and Dr. Tran Thi Thuy Linh (University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University).
