An artistic program reenacted the historical story of the ancestors’ journey to expand the country’s border

With the theme “Revering ancestors - Sacred marks of territorial expansion”, the Huyen Tran Temple Festival - Spring of the Horse 2026, hosted by Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, officially opened on February 25 (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year of the Horse) at Huyen Tran Cultural Center (151 Thien Thai Street, An Cuu Ward).

The event drew a large crowd of guests and locals. This year’s festival holds special significance as it marks the 720th anniversary of the formation and development of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan - Hue.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, shared that coming to the festival, each of us sincerely offers incense to commemorate Buddhist King Tran Nhan Tong - a wise king and great thinker who led the nation through historical challenges and built the brilliant peak of Dai Viet civilization. At the same time, we respectfully commemorate Princess Huyen Tran, a noble symbol of sacrifice and filial piety, revered by People for generations…

During the festival, locals and visitors can enjoy free cultural and artistic activities, including ao-dai performances, calligraphy demonstrations, bai choi, folk games, and traditional sports, etc.
