| Communication to increase coverage of insurance types |
A conference to review the performance in 2025, and deploy tasks for 2026 of the City Social Insurance took place on the afternoon of December 26. Beyond proactively advising the City People's Council and People's Committee to integrate social insurance and health insurance targets into socio-economic development plans, and consolidating the Steering Committee for social insurance and health insurance policy implementation to the commune level, the collection and development of insurance participants continued to be a highlight of Hue City Social Insurance in 2025.
Specifically, during this year, the number of social insurance participants reached 160,912, accounting for nearly 30% of the working-age labor force; of which, voluntary social insurance increased by nearly 8% compared to the previous year. Health insurance participants reached 1,176,965, bringing the coverage rate to 98.94% of the population, exceeding the targets assigned by the Prime Minister. Total revenue from social insurance, health insurance, and voluntary insurance exceeded 4,919 billion VND, surpassing the set plan.
To address the pressure of rising health insurance-funded examination and treatment costs and the impact of natural disasters on the development of insurance participants, in 2026, the City Social Insurance will continue to promote administrative reform and digital transformation, strengthen communication, particularly through small-group outreach, to support the development of participants in voluntary social insurance and household-based health insurance.
“The unit will also strengthen communication regarding policies and laws on social insurance, health insurance, and voluntary insurance, especially the 2024 Social Insurance Law, and the 2024 Amended Health Insurance Law effective from July 1, 2025, and guiding documents, thereby raising awareness, create high social consensus, and foster voluntary compliance with social insurance, and health insurance laws among organizations, agencies, businesses, and people, as well as aiming to serve the people better and more sustainably in the new phase,” said Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of Hue City Social Insurance.
