Attending the ceremony were Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue City, along with representatives of departments, sectors, localities, and a large number of outstanding artisans and production establishments.
Handicrafts are among Hue’s long-standing traditional industries, closely associated with well-known craft villages and artisan quarters, and embodied in exquisite handmade products that carry strong aesthetic value and the cultural identity of the Ancient Capital. Through many ups and downs, these traditional crafts have been preserved and developed thanks to the dedication and perseverance of artisans, individuals who are not only highly skilled but also devote great effort to preservation, transmission, and creative innovation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong acknowledged and commended the important contributions of artisans and rural industrial establishments in preserving and promoting the value of traditional handicrafts. City leaders emphasized that this group plays a core role in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, while also creating products of economic value that meet market demand and serve tourism development.
Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong expressed his hope that in the coming time, artisans and production establishments would continue to nurture their passion for the craft, strengthen vocational transmission to younger generations, and focus on innovating designs and improving product quality, harmoniously combining traditional and modern values to create products bearing Hue’s distinctive imprint.

At the ceremony, under authorization from the President, city leaders presented the title of People’s Artisan to one individual and Meritorious Artisan to three in the field of handicrafts. In addition, the city awarded the title of Hue Artisan to 11 individuals working in various traditional craft fields, such as fine wood carving, rattan and bamboo weaving, tailoring of Hue ao dai, and ceramic mosaic inlay.
Honoring artisans and outstanding rural industrial products are not only a well-deserved recognition of their enduring and dedicated contributions, but also helps to encourage and spread the spirit of preserving and promoting traditional crafts, making a positive contribution to the economic and cultural development of Hue City in the new period.
