The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with the Office of the President, with an aim to honor outstanding student achievements at the International Olympiad and International Science and Engineering Fair in 2025.
In 2025, Vietnam sent 7 teams to international and regional Olympiads, with every contestant winning an award. The teams brought home 13 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals, witnessing an increase of 1 silver medal compared with 2024.
Vietnam’s success at the 2025 international and regional Olympiads reinforces its standing in the region and globally, underscoring significant advances in both gifted and general education.
Contributing to the achievement were 2 students from Hue City: Bui Hoang Dai Duong, a former student of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, who won a silver medal at the International Biology Olympiad; and Tran Le Thien Nhan, also a former student of Quoc Hoc Hue - High School for the Gifted, who earned silver medals at the International Physics Olympiad and Asian Physics Olympiad in 2025.
At the ceremony, 19 students received Second-Class and Third-Class Labor Orders from the President. Among them, Bui Hoang Dai Duong and Tran Le Thien Nhan were awarded the Third-Class Labor Order.
Later the same day, the Ministry of Education and Training held a ceremony to honor students who won awards at the 2025 International Olympiad and Science and Engineering Fair.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan congratulated the students on their strong performances at the International Olympiad and Science & Engineering Research Fair. He said that Vietnam’s success in 2025 is a shared source of pride; it reflects the country’s growing stature in regional and global education.
At the ceremony, the Ministry of Education and Training presented Certificates of Merit and commemorative medals to organizations and individuals with outstanding contributions to training, teaching, mentoring, and leading student teams to the 2025 International Olympiad and Science & Engineering Fair. Among them, Hue City Department of Education and Training and Quoc Hoc Hue - High School for the Gifted were awarded Certificates of Merit by the minister.
The ministry also awarded Certificates of Merit to teachers at Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted for outstanding contributions to training, teaching, mentoring and leading award-winning student teams. The honorees were teachers Giap Dang Nam Tran, Nguyen Van Hanh, and Nguyen Thi Quynh Oanh.
The ministry also presented a Certificate of Merit and commemorative medal to Tran Trung Hieu, a Grade 12 student at Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted (2024 - 2025 school year), for winning a bronze medal at the 2025 Asian Physics Olympiad.
