The Italian ODA project for Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has a total investment of 171,9 billion VND, of which 5,6 million EUR is financed through concessional loans from the Italian Government. The ODA Building was constructed on a site of 1.882 square meters, with seven floors and a total floor area of 11.618 square meters. This is a key component designed to enhance training, research, and clinical capacity, especially in obstetrics - pediatrics and high-tech specialties of the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
The project also allocated more than 1,11 million EUR for modern equipment for the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, including laboratory systems, surgical equipment, infection control technology, and other advanced medical devices. In addition, the project supported the training of four doctoral candidates and nineteen master’s students at the University of Sassari, Italy; provided professional development for four staff members in hospital management, infection control, surgery, and neonatal care; and organized numerous exchange programs, workshops, online training sessions, and scientific exchange missions between the two sides.
The opening of the Italian ODA Building expands the capacity of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, a specialized referral institution, to provide high-quality medical services while elevating the university’s practical training and scientific research capabilities. It will bring practical benefits to residents of Hue City, the Central - Central Highlands region, and the nation as a whole.
