Presenting and receiving the merger decision

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Government Office; central ministries, committees, and agencies; leaders of the Hue City Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee; city departments and sectors; leaders of Hue University and its affiliated units, among others.

The merger is based on the following principles: full acquisition with appropriate restructuring to ensure continuity, stability, efficiency, and ongoing development; streamlining for effectiveness; compliance with current laws; assurance of the rights and benefits of staff, employees, and learners; continued training of medical personnel at the college level in accordance with societal needs, particularly the healthcare system of Hue City, until new regulations are issued by the Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Health, and relevant legal authorities.

The overarching goal of merging Hue Medical College into the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University is to develop a “School-Institute” model that meets national standards and advances toward international standards in education and healthcare. This aligns with the National Strategy on Healthcare and People’s Health Promotion, as well as the planning of the healthcare institution network through 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The merger marks an important milestone in the restructuring and streamlining of educational institutions according to the Government’s direction. It represents a historic moment, ushering in a new phase of development and opening significant opportunities to build a high-quality medical and pharmaceutical training institution that meets the country’s and the sector’s development needs.
