The kitchen has been operating since the afternoon of October 27, with the volunteer spirit of women from Thuan Hoa Ward, as well as teachers from various schools, and people from neighboring areas.
It is known that up to 200 people participate daily in cooking and other tasks at the kitchen area and the multi-purpose gymnasium of Truong An Primary School. During the peak days of the flood, the kitchen provided 3,000 free meals per day for people in low-lying, isolated areas, and those in difficult circumstances severely affected by the flood.

As of the present, the kitchen has supplied the flood-affected communities with over 7,000 hygienic and nutritious meals, along with water and milk. The food sources were mobilized through donations from philanthropists, and from the people directly participating in cooking at the kitchen. If the flood situation remains complicated, the school will continue to open for volunteer groups to cook meals to help people in flooded areas.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai visited, encouraged and praised efforts of the women in organizing the charity kitchen. He highly appreciated their initiative in contributing to support people in severely flooded areas to overcome difficulties, spreading the image of sharing among Hue people, who know how to share rice and clothing in times of hardship.
