At the forum, speakers discussed a range of topics on the connection between cultural heritage and the private economy, such as: “Hue and the Creative Economy from Heritage - Opening New Pathways for Local Cultural Businesses”, “Heritage Copyright - Shaping the Cultural Industry”, and “Businesses in Heritage Spaces - Sustainable and Creative Exploitation Models from the Realities of Vietnam and Korea”, among others.
Speaking at the event, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center Hoang Viet Trung emphasized: “In Hue’s development strategy, cultural heritage is always considered a core resource. Heritage is not only a memory of the past but also a resource - a foundation for shaping the future.”
According to Mr. Trung, the major challenge for Hue lies in transforming heritage value into an economic driving force that creates balanced benefits for the state, businesses, and the community. For this reason, this year’s forum adopted a new approach: viewing the private economy as the driving force, heritage as the foundation, and technology along with creativity as the tools for sustainable development.

Presentations at the forum affirmed that the cultural industry serves as a bridge to bring heritage into everyday life. The forum also addressed the approach of utilizing heritage spaces through public-private partnership (PPP) models. This is considered an important pathway for Hue to both preserve its identity and develop cultural and creative industries tied to tourism and value-added services.
Experts also noted that in the digital age, data and technology will be the “new oil” driving economic sectors, including the heritage economy. When heritage is digitized and leveraged through modern technological platforms, Hue’s cultural values will be widely disseminated, while at the same time, creating opportunities for creative technology enterprises to participate.
