Practicing safe swimming instruction skills

During the training course, instructors and officials from localities were instructed on first aid and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for drowning victims. They also learned how to teach children safe rescue skills (indirectly from the shore), and methods for ensuring the safety while performing first aid and CPR, etc.

Through the training course, instructors and related officials gained knowledge and purpose of first aid to help save lives, prevent a victim's condition from worsening, and aid victim in recovery. They were also equipped with the knowledge to identify dangers to themselves and others, ensuring their own safety before helping a victim.

The “Support for effective and sustainable interventions to prevent drowning in Hue City” project in 2025 is expected to directly benefit approximately 1,440 children between the ages of 6 and 15. These children, from the 6 communes and wards of the project (including: My Thuong, Phu Vinh, Phu Vang, Hung Loc, Loc An, and Phu Loc), will receive free swimming lessons and skills education. Through this project, Hue City aims to reduce accidental injuries, and contribute to protecting children during the upcoming flood season.
