The tournament gathers many elite-level cueists

The tournament brings together over 200 athletes across the country, including prominent international and continental players such as Nguyen Duc Anh Chien - runner-up at 2019 World Championship (Vietnam’s highest achievement in 3-Cushion Carom Billiards); Do Nguyen Trung Hau - bronze medalist at 2019 Asian Championship, alongside other well-known Vietnamese cueists like Mai Tan Huyen, Nguyen Phuoc Minh Dien, Le Dinh Sy, Le Dinh Dung, Huynh Xuan Chau, and Duc Toan.

Representing the host city, Hue has nearly 100 players from 30 billiards clubs across the city participating. Standing out among them is Tran Quoc Vinh, silver medalist at 2010 National Sports University Games, bronze at 2015 National Championship, and ranked in the top 20 at 2017 U.S. Open - a tournament that drew the world’s finest cueists.

Beyond featuring the top names in Vietnam’s 3-Cushion Carom scene, the tournament also makes headlines for its total prize pool of 150 million VND, with the champion receiving over 80 million VND. This is considered the highest prize ever awarded in a billiards tournament in Vietnam to date.

According to Tran Quoc Vinh (Quoc Vinh Billiards Club), the generous prize pool reflects the organizers’ desire to help cover costs and provide motivation for top players preparing to compete at the upcoming 2026 World Championship in South Korea.
