Phu Bai: Brave young man commended for rescuing drowning child

On the afternoon of July 24th, Mr. Le Ba Minh Hai - Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Bai Ward, presented a certificate of commendation to Mr. Tran Van Phi (born in 1999, residing in An Ha Hamlet, My Thuong Ward, Hue City) for his courageous act of rescuing a drowning child.

Earlier, at around 2:00 PM on July 22nd, near a lake by the southern cemetery, having heard cries for help, Mr. Tran Van Phi, who was working nearby as a construction laborer, immediately ran to the scene, jumped into the water, and successfully rescued a young child, bringing him safely to shore.

According to Chairman Le Ba Minh Hai, Mr. Phi’s brave and selfless action not only saved the child’s life but also powerfully spread the spirit of compassion and social responsibility within the community.

“This is a heroic act that everyone should follow, especially as our locality is actively raising awareness about water safety and the prevention of child drowning accidents during the summer,” Mr. Hai emphasized.
