In the first half of the year, the association admitted 111 new members, bringing its total members to 1.806. It organized a professional training course for 17 staff members and three rehabilitation skill workshops, including white cane navigation for 60 trainees; encouraged members to actively participate in competitions launched by the Vietnam Blind Association.
The Vocational Training and Job Creation Center for the Blind held three livestock farming training courses for 54 learners, providing 2.400 chicks and vaccines to support practical household economic development. In addition, two massage therapy training courses were held for 45 participants. The association recovered and disbursed a total of VND 378 million in loan capital to 11 households. The 11th vocational skills competition attracted 127 contestants across 7 trades. The total revenue generated by the association reached nearly VND 3 billion, a 2% increase compared to the same period last year.
In the second half of 2025, the association will continue to provide members with access to capital loan, create job opportunities, and care for both their material and spiritual well-being. It also plans to send a delegation to participate in the Asia-Pacific Blind Massage Conference in South Korea.
Also on this occasion, HCBA also reviewed five years of implementing the support program for PWDs during 2021-2025. In this period, the association organized 75 training courses, supported the construction and renovation of 73 houses, launched 58 loan projects with a total value of over VND 4,5 billion, distributed 153.000 gifts worth VND 47 billion, and exported 340 woven bamboo blinds to France. For the 2025–2030 period, HCBA aims to expand its livelihood support models, promote independent living among members, and reduce the poverty rate by 1-1,5% annually.
