Examinations at the Department of Aesthetic and Maxillofacial Plastic Surgery

Eligible patients include those with facial bone asymmetry such as protruding jaw, receding jaw, or facial imbalance; those with aftereffects of cleft lip and palate deformities of all ages, including lip scars, fistulas in the palate, nasal wing contraction, alveolar bone defects, etc., and patients with other deformities such as craniofacial clefts and ear malformations.

According to Dr. Le Thua Trung Hau, Head of the Department of Aesthetic and Maxillofacial Plastic Surgery at Hue Dental and Maxillofacial Hospital, cleft lip and palate is a common congenital craniofacial defect. Affected children may have an isolated cleft palate or a combination with cleft lip, leading to serious issues such as difficulty eating and nursing, frequent choking, increased risk of respiratory infections, speech disorders, and psychological disturbances. Thanks to modern medicine and aesthetic reconstructive surgery, children with cleft lips and palates now have a chance to restore facial structure, improve eating and speaking abilities, and gain confidence to integrate into society.

Currently, surgery to correct jawbone deformities in adults with cleft lip and palate sequelae typically costs from 50 to 70 million VND per case. However, with this program, all surgical costs are fully covered for eligible patients.

Registration is open now until June 23.
