| The colorful works of orchids |
Taking place from April 26 to May 2, 2025, as part of the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025, the exhibition “Bonsais, Orchids, and Ornamental Stones from the Three Regions” was held alongside the display of traditional handicrafts, tea appreciation art, culinary activities, and cultural experiences. The event was organized at the Royal Treasury Palace, Thieu Phuong Garden, and Co Ha Garden within the Hue Imperial Citadel. The solemn royal space was adorned with the vibrant colors of hundreds of rare orchid species, sophisticated shaped bonsais, and ornamental stones depicting natural landscapes, creating a vivid picture where nature and art harmoniously converge.
The exhibition had the participation of over 600 artisans from various provinces and cities, ranging from Lao Cai and Hanoi to Can Tho and An Giang, showcasing more than 1,000 exceptional works. Among them, the jury selected 104 outstanding works to award, recognizing the creativity, skillful techniques, and dedication of the artisans. As for orchid category, 46 awards were presented across various groups such as Dendrobium, Paphiopedilum, Cymbidium, and Cattleya. The bonsai and ornamental stone exhibition also honored 58 works in categories including large and medium bonsais, artistic ancient trees, miniature landscapes, rockeries, original scenic stones, and Suiseki ornamental stones.

Every evening from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm over six consecutive nights (from April 26 to May 1), Hue Monuments Conservation Center opened the exhibition area to the public free of charge, offering locals and tourists a chance to enjoy artistic works. In particular, the orchid exhibition at Thieu Phuong Garden was a highlight, where orchid enthusiasts could admire nature’s masterpieces, meticulously cultivated by the hands of skilled artisans.
Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center shared: “Through this event, we aim to honor ornamental flora and traditional arts, while also creating connections between tourism, craft villages, and cultural experiences within Hue’s heritage space. It is also a way to promote ecotourism, environmental protection, and socio-economic development”.
