A variety of activities will take place on the occasion of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day

Accordingly, the library will work with the City Youth Union, local organizations, and schools in the area to promote the value and significance of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, linking it with the development of a reading culture within the community. Events include the opening ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025, the launch of the 2025 Hue City Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, and the Book Cover Design Contest themed "Hue City - My Hometown."

Additionally, there will be exhibitions displaying written materials about Hue, the Hue Bookcase collection, and entries from the Hue book cover design contest; as well as the launch of “Reading Week - Lifelong Learning”. Most of the events will take place at the General Library of Hue City (29A Le Quy Don Street, Thuan Hoa District).

A representative from the General Library of Hue City stated that these activities aim to affirm the role, position, and importance of books in enhancing knowledge and skills, developing critical thinking, education, and character formation. They also aim to encourage and cultivate a reading culture within the community, create a favorable reading environment, and promote reading habits within families, schools, agencies, and organizations, contributing to the development of a learning society.

Furthermore, the events will honor readers, authors, publishers, printers, distributors, archivists, collectors, promoters of books, as well as individuals and organizations that have contributed to developing reading culture in the community. They also aim to enhance the responsibility of all levels of government, relevant agencies, and social organizations in building and developing Vietnam’s reading culture in social life in Hue City.
