People came for screening for diabetes at Hue Central Hospital

The conference brought together nearly 400 doctors and healthcare professionals from hospitals and medical centers in Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Tri, and Quang Nam. Additionally, students from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Duy Tan University participated in the event.

Under the theme of advancements in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic disorder treatments, more than 30 reports from leading experts provided crucial updates. These included the 2025 treatment guidelines from the American Diabetes Association, the application of advanced insulin combination formulas, and the use of continuous glucose monitoring technology in diabetes management. The conference also discussed early management of complications, chronic kidney disease and heart failure in diabetic patients. For thyroid disorders, presentations focused on heart failure in patients with hyperthyroidism, optimizing thyroid hormone dosages, and osteoporosis management in diabetic elderly male patients.

According to a recent study by the National Hospital of Endocrinology, over 7% of Vietnam’s population has diabetes. Non-communicable diseases, such as endocrine disorders, diabetes, and metabolic syndromes, are becoming increasingly prevalent in the national disease model.

On this occasion, Hue City Association of Diabetes & Endocrinology and several outstanding individuals had received Certificates of Merit from Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee (now Hue City People's Committee) in recognition of their contributions to the development of the association.
