At the meeting, both sides discussed key topics, paving the way for future collaborations in 2025: The An Dinh Palace conservation project, which involves applying for funding from the French Government through UNESCO to preserve and enhance the site's historical value from 2026 to 2028; A series of activities dedicated to Emperor Ham Nghi, including the art exhibition “Sky, Mountain, Sea /Allusive Panorama”, set to open on March 24th at Kien Trung Palace, Hue Imperial Citadel, and a scientific conference on the life and art of Emperor Ham Nghi, scheduled for March 26th at the French Institute in Hue. Mr. Bolgiani and the leadership of the HMCC also discussed cooperation in collecting historical documents in France, as well as advancing research, digitization, and archiving of Nguyen Dynasty records.
Both parties also agreed on cultural and artistic collaborations for Hue Festival 2025, in which the French Embassy supports the introducing a French music band to perform during Hue International Music Week in December 2025.
The visit and discussions between the Director of the French Institute in Hanoi and the HMCC were highly successful, marking a significant step forward in the partnership between the two institutions, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Hue’s cultural heritage.
