The noodle dishes with the distinctive flavors of Hue at the festival

The culinary festival was attended by: Mr. Nong Quoc Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism); Mrs. Pham Thi Minh Hue - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the City Party Committee’s Inspection Commission; Mrs. Tran Thi Kim Loan - Provincial Party Member, Chairwoman of the City Women’s Union; leader of Huong Tra Town; together with representatives from the Tourism Association, City Culinary Culture Association; artisans, chefs, hotel and accommodation representatives... along with a large number of local people and tourists.

Not only depicting the journey of the noodle-making craft of Van Cu Hamlet, the festival also offered visitors dozens of noodle dishes featuring the typical and distinctive flavors of the three regions of Vietnam, prepared and cooked by the skilled hands of locals and artisans from Van Cu Hamlet, as well as famous culinary artisans and chefs.

In addition to the culinary festival, many other noteworthy activities were also taken place at this location, such as the artistic program “pride in the Van Cu Noodle Village Heritage”, the journey of discovering the cultural heritage and experiencing community-based tourism; performances of making noodle by traditional tools, reenacting the memories of the ancient noodle loads; and agricultural specialties and OCOP products for sale, etc.

According to Mr. Do Ngoc An, Vice Chairman of Huong Tra Town People’s Committee, in addition to honoring the artisans who have preserved and developed the noodle-making craft through its ups and downs, the accompanying activities were also an opportunity to promote Van Cu noodle-making craft in particular, and the local specialties in general. These activities also were held to spread the destinations and the area’s traditional cultural beauty, thence, aiming to develop community-based tourist destinations that explore the heritage and Van Cu noodle-making craft in the coming time.
