Unlike modern shopping centers and supermarkets, Tet market is a bustling, chaotic environment with products of varying quality. Yet, it offers a unique Tet atmosphere that cannot be replicated elsewhere to “hundreds of sellers, and thousands of buyers”. It is a place where one can witness the anxiety and tension on the faces of elderly vendors at less popular stalls, the bustling activity of children and husbands helping their wives and mothers with the business, the lively haggling that is sometimes just for the sake of it, and a showcase of local products and how well-off the local people are…
