A performance by pupils from Phu Mau Primary School at the Health Day Festival

The Health Day Festival is an annual community-oriented event organized by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, in collaboration with international partners since 2015. It combines public health education with cultural exchange, delivering valuable knowledge and promoting healthy practices to participants. To date, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy has hosted over 30 Health Day Festivals, drawing participation from more than 15,000 individuals, including students, women, the elderly, and other groups.

This year’s event at Phu Mau Primary School held special significance, marking 10 years of efforts to raise public health awareness and contribute to building a healthier community.

The event continued its partnership with the traditional collaborator, the School of Health Sciences, Youngsan University, South Korea, bringing to students many useful and interesting activities such as: oral health education and counselling, scoliosis prevention tips, and proper handwashing techniques. Moreover, students also enjoyed fun games, received exciting gifts, and participated in cultural exchanges with South Korean students.

The program also featured a seminar on the Vietnamese Healthcare System, providing South Korean students with an in-depth understanding of the structure and operations of Vietnam’s healthcare system, as well as the challenges and opportunities the sector faces. Korean students also had the opportunity to visit the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University - one of the top three universities in the country in the field of health sciences - to experience its learning and research environment firsthand.

These activities not only help volunteer students recognize the vital role of the healthcare sector in the community but also provide opportunities to exchange and learn international languages and cultures. Through these experiences, students are guided in career orientation and develop essential soft skills for the future.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, commits to continuing its collaboration with international partners to expand and diversify community-oriented programs, contributing to the improvement of people’s health and the quality of life.
